JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for a skilled Junior Accountant based in South Africa to join our team. You will work with one of the world’s leading IoT solutions providers, contributing to accurate financial reporting and compliance in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with accurately capturing daily revenue transactions and ensure compliance with IFRS 15 and VAT Act.
- Capturing of expenses in the general ledger and ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
- Apply costing principles per IAS 2 and ensure inventory is recorded accurately and completely in the system.
- Manage customer receipts and ensure payments are cleared on time to ensure completion of sales transactions without delays.
- Handle queries from sales team and suppliers and ensure issues are resolved timeously and satisfactorily.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation as per the stipulated timeframes to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Participate in the budgeting process and assist with forecasts and variance analysis.
- Assist the collection of information as required by SARS and preparing of tax returns to ensure continued compliance with income tax and VAT Act.
- Assist with providing and collecting information for CIPC reporting purposes to ensure the company remains compliant with the company’s act.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
- Filing of company documents: Maintain organized filing system for company documents.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role working with full IFRS; Income Tax Act and VAT Act.
- SAICA/SAIPA articles completed.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills.
