HEAD OF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (HEAD OF RND) • TELEMATICS

We are looking for an ambitious and strategic Head of Research & Development division to join our growing team in Vilnius, Lithuania, to work with the Telematics devices portfolio.

 

Teltonika’s telematics business unit develops and produces easy-to-use GPS tracking devices for effective fleet management in logistics, agriculture, car sharing, construction, and more. Using the latest technologies, Teltonika sets new standards for the telematics industry.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to R&D division with more than 200 people, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term vision and goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate department heads, fostering a high-performance culture oriented on accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of product development initiatives, managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to optimize workflows, enhance products quality, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Lead all R&D activities, including resource planning, division budgeting, project/product delivery, and ensuring continuous process improvement.
  • Make strategic decisions to maximize the division’s performance and long-term impact.

 

What we expect of you:

  • Extensive leadership experience (minimum 5 years) managing technical organizations, with direct responsibility for leading managers.
  • Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and develop leaders and teams to consistently meet and exceed ambitious goals.
  • Solid technical expertise in hardware product development, programming or testing – previous hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management and process optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate with managers and technical individuals and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English (written and oral) at a minimum C1 level.
  • An Advanced degree in a relevant technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Courage to implement necessary changes.

Salary

We appreciate everyone's efforts and experiences, so we offer an attractive salary matching your skillset and field expertise. The salary for this position ranges from 40 Eur/h up to 55 Eur/h (~6700 Eur—9200 Eur) pre-tax, depending on your experience and expertise, with the option to get bonuses.

*In an employment agreement, we specify and define a fixed (tariff) hourly salary rate before taxes.
