PRODUCT OWNER (OEM Hardware (Automotive / IATF)) • TELEMATICS
Vilnius, VL, LT
We are looking for a Product Owner – OEM Hardware to build and lead Teltonika’s entry into OEM-grade hardware development, aligned with automotive and IATF 16949 standards.
This is a foundational role. You will start from zero — defining the business plan, product strategy, team structure, and roadmap required to make Teltonika OEM-ready. You will own the full journey from OEM requirements analysis to SOP readiness, working across hardware, firmware, quality, manufacturing, and sales.
Teltonika develops and produces easy-to-use IoT and telematics devices for global markets. With strong aftermarket leadership, we are now taking the next strategic step: entering the OEM hardware space.
Your Mission
To design, build, and own Teltonika’s OEM hardware product capability, ensuring products, processes, and teams meet automotive-grade expectations.
Core Responsibilities:
• OEM Product & Business Ownership
- Define the OEM hardware product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap
- Build the business plan: scope, investment logic, milestones, and success criteria
- Own OEM hardware programs from concept → development → validation → SOP
• Team & Capability Build-Up (from zero)
- Define required team structure (HW, FW, quality, program support)
- Participate in key hires and role definition
- Establish ways of working suitable for OEM / IATF environment
• Requirements & Stakeholder Alignment
- Analyze and structure OEM, regulatory, and internal requirements
- Translate requirements into:
- HW architecture inputs
- Validation and test expectations
- Manufacturing and quality constraints
- Act as the single product owner across R&D, quality, manufacturing, and sales
• Delivery & Program Orchestration
- Coordinate:
- Hardware design and supplier alignment
- Firmware dependencies and interfaces
- Manufacturing readiness and ramp-up
- Drive milestones, gates, and readiness reviews
- Own change management (ECR/ECO, design freeze discipline)
• Quality, Compliance & Risk Ownership
- Ensure alignment with IATF 16949 principles (APQP, FMEA, traceability mindset)
- Maintain a risk-driven product approach
- Proactively identify and mitigate:
- Design risks
- Supply-chain risks
- Compliance and audit risks
• OEM & Supplier Interface
- Represent Teltonika in OEM technical discussions
- Lead design and readiness reviews
Coordinate with EMS and component suppliers
What we expect of you:
Experience
- 2+ years in hardware product management, program management, or engineering leadership.
- Proven involvement in NPI / SOP preparation.
Technical & OEM competency
- Strong understanding of:
- Electronics hardware development
- Embedded systems and HW/FW interaction
- Manufacturing and validation processes
- Practical knowledge of IATF / automotive quality concepts
(APQP, FMEA, change control mindset)
Leadership & Ownership
- Comfortable building things from scratch
- Strong decision-making under uncertainty
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal hierarchy
- Clear communication with engineers, management, and customers
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 audits or preparation
- Background in EMS / Tier-1 / OEM supplier environment
- Experience with cost modeling, BOM ownership, and supplier negotiations
What Makes This Role Special:
- Foundational role – you are building the OEM capability, not inheriting it
- True product ownership – hardware, quality, delivery, and readiness
- Strategic visibility – direct impact on Teltonika’s long-term direction
- Career accelerator – rare OEM experience in a growing global company
This is not a backlog-only Product Owner role.
This is a builder, owner, and leader role.
What we offer:
- Great opportunities to grow in a strong and rapidly expanding company.
- Interesting and ambitious projects of industrial GPS tracking devices.
- Place where curiosity is key: here, we share knowledge and learn in training courses, conferences or business trips.
- Dynamic, challenging work environment and cooperation-based internal culture.
- Care about your emotional and physical well-being by offering flexible work schedules, hybrid work opportunities, the ability to work remotely, and health insurance.
- Company-paid sports activities (basketball, football, volleyball, yoga) and other sports events.
- Celebrating achievements and having fun together in team building, summer festivals, and other important occasions.
- Opportunity for solid bonuses when participating in the recommendation program.
- We delight with birthday and Christmas gifts and rewards on work anniversaries.
- Lunch snacks.
